As the 250th anniversary of America's independence approaches, the Maryland State Library Agency (MSLA) is working with the Maryland 250 Commission and numerous partners to highlight Maryland history collections in public libraries across the state. Click here to read more about the Maryland 250 Commission. Recently, MSLA conducted a survey of the state’s 24 public library systems to identify and map these collections. The survey revealed Maryland public libraries host a variety of historic publications, photographs, maps and other materials. While some of the collections are found within individual library branches, others are available online. Information on these collections, including links and locations, can be found within the interactive map and list below.
