​​​​​​​The Maryland State Library Agency funds an ongoing implementation of the data visualization software Tableau, a business intelligence tool used to help library organizations analyze all data and metrics and facilitate agile and accurate decision-making across all management levels. The Statewide Statistics project includes training, professional consulting hours, monthly statewide presentations/collaborations, and licenses to Tableau, as well as the public/governmental entity-facing data repository and mapping tool, PolicyMap. This multi-year project has helped with the unification of a data landscape for public libraries statewide and has assisted in broader collaboration.​​​​​​​ ​Current and previous years library statistics can be found on the Maryland Public Library Statistics page​.
