Virtual Hike Rules

Patrons must register for the program to participate in the 2027 Virtual Hike: Wizard of Oz. Once registered, participants will track their reading, physical activity, podcast listening, video watching, and participation in library activities. Registration and tracking will be done through the Beanstack app, which can be accessed via computer or smart device.

To complete the program, participants must earn 1000 Yellow Brick Miles. All reading formats count, including audio, braille, large print, and standard print. While there is a curated book list, patrons may chose to read any materials they would like.

This program is open to all patrons of the National Library Service for the Blind and Print Disabled (NLS) and their families. Those who complete the program will receive a medal recognizing their achievement and participation in this shared literary journey.
